ninosbuildings: walk through iconic buildings

Nino Ferrari-Mathis walks you through remarkable homes and museums — LA modernism, Brazil, France, Japan — so you feel the space, not just see it.

ninosbuildings: walk through iconic buildings

What it is

Nino Ferrari-Mathis is a French-Brazilian architecture graduate who started @ninosbuildings while studying at Parsons School of Design. In 2025 Dezeen named him its creator-at-large, filming celebrated and overlooked buildings for the magazine. On his own TikTok the format is straightforward: he walks through a house or a museum and lets the space speak — light, materials, the view from each window.

Why we picked it

Photos flatten architecture. You need to move through a building to get it, and that's exactly what these videos do. The camera moves the way a visitor would, and within a minute you have a feel for what it's like to be there. The range is wide: recent weeks have taken in mid-century modern homes in Los Angeles, a museum in Brazil, several French houses including a literal bubble house, a home in Argentina and a short on a Japanese architectural movement. Scroll back and there's Niemeyer and some brutalist favourites.

Captions are short prompts like "Would you live here?", and the comments turn into surprisingly good debates about how people actually want to live. It's architecture as somewhere you could live, not a textbook diagram.

Where to start

  • The latest mid-century modern homes in Los Angeles.
  • The bubble house in France.
  • The video on the Japanese architectural movement.
  • Scroll back for his take on Niemeyer.

Who it's for

People who save interior photos and daydream about their future home. Architecture students looking for fresh references. Travellers building a list of buildings worth a detour.
